NO YEAR’S RESOLUTION -- In 2005, I first gained access to a digital camera: the Canon PowerShot A560. In 2010 I got my first “real” digital camera; the PowerShot fell by the wayside. On a visit home in 2016, I rediscovered the PowerShot and took it with me, first to Baltimore and then on to California. The last photos I took on the PowerShot were in 2020. The camera was old and constantly draining AA batteries. When I moved apartments in 2024, I picked up the PowerShot from where it had been sitting, unused, and discovered extensive corrosion from the batteries I’d left inside. I cleaned the corrosion as best I could, but the PowerShot was shot.
